## The honest read

Remedy Cooling and Heating is an HVAC business whose website lists air conditioning, central air and residential HVAC installation and repair, names Taunton as its service area, and reports 17 years in business.

A recent Thumbtack review says Remy got right to work, went off site to get a part needed for the repair, and finished the entire job in an hour or so. In a 2026 Thumbtack review, a customer with an emergency said Remedy called within minutes of the posting and helped troubleshoot an older furnace, knowing exactly what to look at. Another 2026 review said Remy walked the customer through correcting a furnace issue without having to come out.

In a 2025 review, a customer said the technician diagnosed one A/C unit and had it working, then diagnosed another unit they had been told needed a full replacement and had the whole system working. A 2025 review said Remy responded quickly to a need for a hot water heater. In a 2024 review, a homeowner with no heat said Remy arrived within 2 hours, picked up parts at a local supply store and repaired a gas boiler in less than an hour.

In a 2025 Google review, a customer said they were charged double the service call fee without it being disclosed, that a second opinion found the diagnosis wrong, and that a promised follow-up never came.

**Strengths:**
- Quick repairs — part fetched and job finished in about an hour
- A/C diagnosis — two units working again, per a 2025 review
- Boiler repair — gas boiler fixed within hours, per a 2024 review

**Concerns:**
- Service call fee — a 2025 review said a doubled fee was undisclosed

**Where sources disagree:**
- The website reports 17 years in business, while the Thumbtack profile says 12 years.
