## The honest read

Rey's Painting describes itself on its own website as a painter that prepares surfaces and focuses on the details that make paint look better and last longer. A recent Google customer hired Rey for an interior drywall job that included replacing the wood studs and painting, and said he also installed a storm door and fixed it when it turned out to have a manufacturing defect. That customer said Rey turns up to address follow-up issues even after the job and payment are done.

A recent Thumbtack customer said they were helpful with their knowledge of wallpaper, punctual and respectful of the home. A 2026 customer hired Rey to install insulation and Sheetrock in 3 rooms that had water damage, and said Rey gave an estimate at 10 am and was back by 2 pm to start the job. A 2026 customer said Rey arrived at 12:30 on the dot, met them at Home Depot to make sure they bought the right vanity, mirror, light and grout, and completed a shower door installation along with the rest of the project.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0704196, as active, held by Reys Painting LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Drywall and painting — a recent customer's job included new studs and painting
- Follow-up after payment — a recent customer said Rey returns for follow-up issues
- A fast start — a 2026 customer got a 10 am estimate, work by 2 pm
