## The honest read

Rhudd's Landscape & Design is a Milton landscaping company built around Jerry, the owner, who reviewers from 2021 through this year keep describing the same way: shows up when he says he will, sends an itemized quote you can pay online, and does the work himself alongside a small crew. The company covers the everyday landscaping calendar — spring cleanups, mulching, edging, lawn care — plus bigger jobs like sod installs and hardscape prep, and its own site adds patios, retaining walls, sprinkler work, junk removal, and snow removal to the list.

The review record backs that reputation: 4.6 stars across 20 Google reviews, with the specifics doing the work — a 2022 customer needed a tight-timeline yard turnaround and said Jerry and his team went the extra mile, and a 2023 sod job that didn't come out right the first time was one Jerry's crew stayed on until the customer was satisfied. Rhudd's is also listed on BuyBlack.org as a Black-owned business.

One dissenting account is worth knowing about: a 2023 reviewer said Jerry declined to share references when asked before booking an estimate, which soured that particular interaction even though the estimate process itself went smoothly. It's an isolated account, but worth a direct question if references matter to you.

One more thing to square away: Rhudd's page on Porch shows 3.9 stars from 23 reviews it says were pulled in from elsewhere, and a "16 years in business" figure that doesn't line up with a company directory entry putting the founding around 2015 — the company's own Google numbers are the more current read.

For routine lawn care or a seasonal cleanup, Rhudd's has a consistent, recent local track record — just ask upfront if you want references before signing.

**Strengths:**
- Owner-led reliability — reviewers credit Jerry directly for showing up as scheduled
- Strong Google rating — 4.6★ across 20 reviews
- Stands behind the work — a 2023 sod issue was fixed until the customer was satisfied

**Concerns:**
- Declined references — a 2023 reviewer said none were provided before hiring

**Where sources disagree:**
- Porch's page reports 3.9 stars from 23 reviews it describes as re-aggregated from elsewhere, lower than the company's own Google page (4.6 from 20 ratings); Porch's stated 16 years in business also doesn't match a directory listing giving 2015 as the founding year.
