## The honest read

Rich Exterior Solutions says it has served property owners across New England since 1950, doing exterior restoration on homes and commercial properties. A mainebiz.biz item describes it as Falmouth-based. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 stars from 27 ratings.

Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 174827, is expired on the state registry.

A 2012 customer said it took three calls before a gutter installation date was set. That 2012 customer said a truck then came and manufactured the gutters, workers installed them a couple of days later, a slight misunderstanding about where the gutters should drain was quickly resolved, and the gutters looked great. A 2013 customer said Luc quoted high but the work came in lower based on what was found once the job started, and was pleased with the new gutter system. A 2013 customer wrote that the drip edge was installed and that the company honored a gutter-work coupon even though the request did not technically meet its requirements.

A 2014 customer said Luc gave about a half-dozen estimates during the back-and-forth, then had his crew there within a couple of days in 2-foot-deep snow; that 2014 customer said everything was done in a few hours and a big pile of junk was carted off. In a 2017 review, a customer said Luc Walker provided a competitive quote and the crew arrived on time and cleaned up everything afterwards; that 2017 customer recommended the company for roofing needs. A 2018 customer said the crew replaced a roof with a steep pitch on a house very close to the neighbors', at a solid price.

**Strengths:**
- Steep-pitch roof replacement — a 2018 customer said the crew replaced it at a solid price
- A fast winter job — a 2014 customer said everything was done in a few hours
- A lower final bill — a 2013 customer said the work came in under the quote

**Concerns:**
- Slow to schedule — a 2012 customer needed three calls to set a gutter date
- Expired MA registration — Massachusetts HIC registration 174827 is expired on the state registry
