## The honest read

When a storm put a tree on a house in Plainville, a recent customer said Manny and his crew responded very quickly on the Sunday after. Rick's Tree Service LLC holds a 4.7-star rating from 75 Google ratings, and the company says on its website it has 20 years in business.

That same recent customer said he helped patch a hole in the roof a week later while taking down another tree on the property. A recent customer wrote that they cut down very large trees as well as some medium sized trees on the property, and finished with a thorough clean up.

A 2025 customer described a silver maple swung up, out and over a two-story house and set down in sections, on a very busy street. A 2025 customer said a large tree in a difficult area was removed section by section with a crane. A 2023 customer said Manny and his team took down three 110 ft pine trees from the backyard and two smaller ones. A 2022 customer said a large dead pine was removed and its stump ground down, after being told to expect arrival around noon and seeing him show up at 11:55. A 2023 customer who ordered a cord of firewood said it was all hardwood and dry.

A recent reviewer said the company quoted their elderly neighbor $500 to take down an 8-inch-diameter stick, that its fall took out a branch that had been there for over 100 years, and that the person they believed was the owner, Manny, got aggressive when they asked for it to be made right.

**Strengths:**
- Storm response — a recent customer said they came quickly on a Sunday
- Thorough clean up — a recent customer said the work ended with a thorough clean up
- A crane removal — a 2025 customer said a tree came out section by section
- A ground stump — a 2022 customer said the dead pine's stump was ground down
