## The honest read

A nor'easter took out a front stone stairway and its circa-1936 wrought iron railings, and Riverside Fence fabricated new iron railings, a recent Google customer said. That customer added that Riverside put them on to Bolton Landscape Design & Masonry for the stonework.

A recent customer said the company helped design a combination of deer fencing and split rail, quoted a fair price and showed up when promised. A recent customer said the Riverside Fence crew had to mix old fence with new and make repairs on the fly. A recent customer had a project on top of a 200' rock wall built in the 1800s and not mortared. A recent customer said the whole job took three consecutive days, including a rainy morning, and that it cost a lot but was fairly reasonable. On Google the company holds 4.5 stars from 53 ratings, Houzz shows 5.0 from 13, and BBB grades it A+. The company says it has been in business 30 years, and its website lists a service area that includes Danbury, Fairfield, Norwalk, Greenwich and Rye.

A 2026 customer needed a code-compliant pool fence fast to avoid pushing off a home closing; that customer said an evaluator came out the next morning and a crew worked in the rain and got the fence done ahead of schedule. A 2026 customer said Riverside repaired a backyard fence blown down in a winter storm, digging into frozen ground. A 2025 customer had a new electric gate system and a utility gate installed and said Rob and his team managed the subcontractors. A 2024 customer emailed pictures of snapped deer fencing for a quote and said the crew showed up the next day and spray-painted the top fittings black to match. A 2024 customer described 40 feet of fencing set in holes bored into a stone wall, finished in green to blend in. A 2024 customer said Riverside had been building their fences since 2008.

A 2025 customer who said they spent over $100,000 described a salesperson who missed scheduled meetings, said they eventually had to sue to ensure the contract terms were fulfilled, and said the owner, Rob Kaye, refused to speak to them; that customer also said the fence did turn out nicely. A 2023 customer said a fence the company put up at their condominium had to be reinstalled in less than two years.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0614438, as inactive due to non-renewal, held by Riverside Fence.
