## The honest read

Roots Landscaping is a Bethel landscaping and fencing company with 134 Google ratings averaging 4.9 stars and an A- grade from the Better Business Bureau. The company describes itself as providing landscaping, fencing and masonry for residential and commercial properties in Fairfield County, western Connecticut and selected Westchester County communities.

A recent customer said three workers put in around 350 feet of fencing in 3 days, worked right through a sudden downpour, and kept working while neighbors who opposed the fence let their dogs out to bark at them. Helder was accommodating with that customer's tight schedule, including coordination with the surveyor, and his price came in below a competitor's. A recent customer who has used them for lawn care for years had a 20 year old fence replaced with new deer fencing and said the crew showed up at 8:00am and worked all day. A recent customer had an old fence replaced and said the workers worked in a way to minimize the impact of the project on the customer's dogs. A 2025 customer had two privacy fences installed and said the installation went smoothly despite challenges from buried piping.

A recent customer said they built a huge concrete patio and two bluestone walkways with steps, plus a long fence. A recent customer said they trimmed overgrown shrubs, cut down limbs, weeded and mulched all around the property. On lawn mowing, a recent customer said that when it rains on lawn-cutting day, they make every attempt to come back the next fair-weather day.

A 2022 customer said they called and emailed for an estimate, was told they would get a call back, and never heard back.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0636303, as active, held by Roots Landscaping LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Fence installation — deer, privacy and replacement fences put in
- A 350-foot fence — a recent customer said it went in over 3 days
- A rain-day makeup — a recent customer said mowing returns the next fair day

**Concerns:**
- An unanswered estimate — a 2022 customer said no one called back
