## The honest read

Rudi the Plumber Inc, on Forest Ave in Portland, describes itself on its BBB profile as a family-run plumbing and heating company established in 1972, with about six or seven employees, handling inside plumbing and oil and gas heating installs. Its repeat customers describe a long relationship: in a December 2023 Google review, one said the company replaced their water heater a couple of years earlier, then came back to fix a failed water pipe, replace water line valves and install a garbage disposal, leaving the place as clean as they found it.

In a February 2024 review, a returning customer said Norm and Dave replaced a badly leaking shower handle sooner than expected and for exactly the estimated price.

One August 2025 reviewer said that when they called for an estimate, they were told the company was not taking new customers.

Norman R. Casparius holds an active Maine plumber licence, MS70002312, on the state registry. The company holds an A+ BBB grade and 4.2 stars across 26 Google ratings.

**Strengths:**
- Repeat service — 2023 customer describes several jobs over years
- Price matched estimate — February 2024 shower handle repair

**Concerns:**
- New customers — August 2025 caller told they were not being taken
