In a March 2026 review, they wanted a transfer switch for a new portable generator, contacted three companies, and picked Scott Haynes because he answered first and because they preferred an owner-operated business. Scott and his son laid drop cloths, kept the area clean, and the system worked when the power went out. Scott M Haynes Electrician Inc is based in Bellingham, and its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles say it serves Bellingham, Franklin and the surrounding area. Scott M Haynes holds Massachusetts electrician licence #20116-EL-A, active on the state registry. BuildZoom also lists construction supervisor licence CS-068147. Older houses come up more than once. A February 2026 customer had baseboard heaters replaced in a home with outdated wiring that wasn't up to code, and Scott fixed the wiring along with the heaters. In a 2024 review, a homeowner said he met with the electrical inspector before starting a service job to make sure the older house could be brought to current code. An August 2025 customer laid out the job in detail — a basement outlet on a foundation wall, EMT conduit, a new 20-amp breaker in the panel — and said it was quoted within 24 hours and finished for the quoted amount. Other jobs include a meter replacement in an April 2026 review, a tripping-breaker problem with a new appliance in 2025, and electrical service for a new pool in 2024. In a 2023 review, a customer whose parents had lost power to part of their house said Scott called back the same day, came first thing the next morning, and didn't try to sell extra work. One complaint isn't about the electrical work: an October 2025 Google reviewer gave 2 stars after watching the company's drivers text in traffic and make an illegal left turn out of a parking lot. Google shows 4.7 stars from 23 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 from 4. **Strengths:** - Owner on the job — a 2026 customer hired Scott for that reason - Older-home code work — wiring brought up to code in two reviews - Quote held — August 2025 job finished for the quoted amount **Concerns:** - Driver conduct — 2025 reviewer saw drivers texting in traffic ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Scott M Haynes holds Massachusetts electrician licence #20116-EL-A, active on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://occupationallicensingandpermitting.mass.gov/madol/s/license-search-page) — “MA electrician license 20116-EL-A registry-verified active — registry holder of record: SCOTT M HAYNES” - Based in Bellingham; its profiles say it serves Bellingham, Franklin and the surrounding area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ma/bellingham/scott-m-haynes-electrician-inc-reviews-1.htm) — “About (Angi, self-described): Scott M Haynes Electrician INC., proudly servicing Bellingham, Franklin and the surrounding areas.
