## The honest read

Seacoast Flooring sells and installs carpet, tile and hardwood, and its website names a service area of Scarborough, Portland, Falmouth, Cumberland, Westbrook and Yarmouth. The company says it has been in business 20 years. Its BBB page lists an A+ grade.

A 2025 customer said they paid a 50 percent deposit of $6,994.00 for porcelain tile flooring, and that the installation left gaps under the tiles, misaligned and chipped tiles, and a transition that is a trip hazard. That 2025 customer wrote that Seacoast Flooring was not responding to communications and that complaints had been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office.

A 2025 customer shopping for a custom large area rug said Seacoast let them take home many samples with no pressure to buy. When that rug had minor defects, the 2025 customer said Seacoast contacted the company and got another rug shipped at no additional cost. A 2025 customer had new carpet and floor put in an upstairs bedroom and bathroom and called the installer, Mark, a craftsman.

In a 2019 review, a customer described tile work around a fireplace: they helped choose the tile, were prompt with a quote, and Mike showed up on time and cleaned up every day until the job was done. A 2019 customer said Seacoast had done both of their bathrooms, then replaced the carpet and tile on their entire first floor with hardwood, and most recently installed carpet in the upstairs bedrooms.

A 2018 customer said a couple of tiles lifted after the install, and David had somebody over that same day to take care of it. A 2018 customer said a torn carpet repair looked like new. A 2018 customer whose carpet was replaced with red oak hardwood said the work was done by a subcontractor and the baseboard heating unit coverings were never reinstalled properly. A 2015 customer said there were a couple of problems after they left, and they came back to fix them.

**Strengths:**
- Same-day tile fix — a 2018 customer said lifted tiles were handled that day
- Fireplace tile work — a 2019 customer said Mike cleaned up every day
- A replaced rug — a 2025 customer got a defective rug replaced at no cost

**Concerns:**
- Porcelain tile install — a 2025 customer reported gaps, misaligned and chipped tiles
- Unanswered communications — a 2025 customer said Seacoast stopped responding
- Subcontracted hardwood job — a 2018 customer said heating covers were not reinstalled properly
