## The honest read

Shalvey Plumbing LLC holds a 4.7-star Google rating from 15 ratings, and the name on the calls is Ben.

A customer who called on a Sunday said Ben answered, came to their home quickly and fixed a leaking toilet. A customer who had recently bought a first home said Ben tells you what he thinks the problem is, what he plans to do and what he has done, in plain terms. When that customer turned a valve and caused a leak they could not stop, Ben walked them through steps by text, then diagnosed the problem over FaceTime and got them to a temporary fix while he was boarding a plane.

A customer said Ben diagnosed a leak they could not easily find, at a very fair price. A customer said Ben took extra time to walk through options until a solution worked for their budget, and the job was done quickly.

A customer with a drainage problem said Ben came out the same day, checked the cleanouts and plunged every drain, then said everything looked okay after about 30 minutes and charged $150, without running a sewer snake or inspecting the vent. When the toilet was still gurgling the next day, he told the customer it was probably a venting issue. The customer had the town inspect the sewer connection the following week, and it found a significant blockage between the sewer line and the town's main; the customer said there was no follow-up after reporting the issue remained unresolved.

**Strengths:**
- A Sunday call — a customer said Ben answered and fixed a leaking toilet
- Plain-language explanations — a customer said Ben explains the problem and his plan
- A hard-to-find leak — a customer said Ben diagnosed it at a fair price

**Concerns:**
- Drain diagnosis — a customer said a sewer blockage was not identified at the visit
- No follow-up — a customer reported none after the drain problem continued
