## The honest read

Shaw and Son Outdoor Maintenance is an Augusta yard-care business whose own site lists fall and spring cleanups, lawn mowing, tractoring, plowing and sanding, wood chipping, stump grinding, pruning, odd jobs and light hauling. The company says it has been in business 28 years. On Google it holds 3.9 stars from 10 ratings, and Angi shows 4.6 stars from 14.

A 2025 Google reviewer called the business polite, professional and fair and said the job was well done. A 2020 Angi customer said they plowed for them the whole winter and snow never sat on the lawn for more than an hour. A 2020 customer wrote that Dillon Shaw was on time and worked hard. A 2020 customer said the price was good and the work was done the same day. A 2020 customer said a leaf and branch cleanup went well apart from a slight misunderstanding about a call back to finish up. A 2019 customer said they were prompt about getting there to cut the lawn.

A 2020 Angi customer said a $300 truckload of compost from the company came with trash mixed in, including plastic bags, candy bar wrappers, styrofoam and caution tape. The 2020 customer said they first asked the son, Dillon, for a refund and were blocked on social media, and that his father, Ernie, then refunded the money begrudgingly.
