It holds 4.7 stars from 23 Google ratings and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. A recent customer, new to owning a pool, says Jim answered a long list of questions about upkeep, and that his crew was punctual and explained what they were doing without trying to upsell. A recent customer says they installed a new pool liner and made many upgrades with Solar Pools, and still use Jim every spring and fall to open and close the pool. In a 2024 review, a customer said Jim responded quickly to a request to quote a liner replacement and did exactly what he said he would as quoted. A 2024 customer said they were happy with "the line fix and pool heater install" from Jim and his crew. A 2025 customer wrote that during a 2024 inground liner install, Jim's team broke one of the pool lights and left it hanging in the water with wires exposed. That 2025 customer said Jim eventually admitted responsibility and agreed to repair it, but after the customer reported the pool was open, texts and calls went unanswered. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0633492, held by Solar Pool Service LLC, as inactive due to non-renewal. **Strengths:** - Spring and fall openings — a recent customer uses them every season - A clear explanation — a recent customer says nothing was upsold - Liner replacement as quoted — a 2024 customer said Jim did what he said **Concerns:** - A broken pool light — a 2025 customer said the promised repair never happened ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Explained the work to a new pool owner without upselling _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21SaVdsVTNURkYwVUVJMWRWa3lZVUpWTTFKd1dIYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x3c8c249e4e3ea0ad!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmRiWlU3TFF0UEI1dVkyYUJVM1JwWHc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Jim provided outstanding service from start to finish.
