## The honest read

Solimine Contracting describes itself on Houzz as a family-owned design-build general contractor in New Milford, CT, remodeling homes since 1993.

A recent customer said Solimine handled a kitchen renovation for them and later a bathroom renovation, and that the company has its own design center where materials were available for selection and visualization. A recent customer said their bathroom job moved along efficiently from picking out cabinets to the install. A 2026 customer said Solimine completed their bathroom expansion and remodel in 2025, closely tracked their budget and finished on time and on budget.

A 2025 customer said the company did a full master bathroom and bedroom renovation for them, a full gut with a new floor plan for a large custom shower, and later helped gut and reframe their garage after a pipe burst. A 2025 customer said Solimine remodeled their first floor and that John gave them a completion date and got the job done on time despite unexpected changes.

A 2022 customer said John Solimine returned their call within 24 hours and that the project needed a new deck with proper cement footings and flashing where the deck met the exterior walls. A 2022 customer said the company did their flood remediation with flooring and drywall repair, installed an interior French drain and sump pump, and built a new bathroom. A 2016 Houzz customer described a roofing project in which the old shingles were removed, damaged plywood was repaired and new copper flashing went on.

A 2025 customer wrote that the company used "non-licensed day laborers when possible", that the work was not up to code and that they were left with a hole in their living room wall.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0584383, as active, held by Solimine Contracting LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Bathroom remodels — a 2026 customer said one finished on time and on budget
- A design center — a recent customer said materials were there to select
- A first-floor remodel — a 2025 customer said John finished by the promised date

**Concerns:**
- Day laborers — a 2025 customer said the work was not up to code
