## The honest read

Somerset Glass Co. is a Somerset, MA glazing contractor doing commercial and industrial architectural aluminum work — storefronts, curtain wall, entrances, impact-resistant systems — alongside residential glazing like shower enclosures, mirrors and insulated window replacement. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and BBB dates the company back to 1976 (50 years), with Linda Rapoza listed as president.

Google puts it at 4.6★ from 31 ratings, and the specific accounts on file are largely favorable. In an October 2022 review, a customer having a custom sliding glass door built for a reptile enclosure said the job came in under the two-week estimate and under the expected price. A car-restoration customer, in a January 2022 review, called the windshield and rear hatch glass they supplied top quality at a reasonable price.

One thing worth asking about: a January 2025 review described confusion around a small plexiglass order — conflicting answers on when the deposit was due and whether the glass would be cut on the days promised, stretching what was quoted as a 1-2 day turnaround well past that. Worth confirming pickup and cutting timelines clearly upfront, especially for smaller custom orders.

A licensed, long-running glazier suited to both custom residential glass work and commercial storefront jobs — just nail down turnaround expectations before paying a deposit on a small order.

**Strengths:**
- Custom glass work — 2022 review noted early delivery and lower than expected price
- Specialty glass jobs — praised for automotive and custom fabrication work

**Concerns:**
- Order timeline confusion — 2025 review described mixed answers on deposit and cutting schedule
