## The honest read

SOS Plumbing Solutions describes itself on HomeAdvisor as a local plumbing company in Barrington, NH that specializes in repair work, and its Thumbtack page shows 4.9 stars from 135 ratings. Its website lists emergency plumbing, water heaters, drain cleaning and sewer work, leak detection and repair, faucet and sink repair, water line work and toilet repair and installation, and the company says there it has been in business 17 years. The site's stated service area includes Barrington, Rochester, Dover, Durham, Lee, Somersworth and Alton.

A recent Thumbtack customer said Shaun takes on small jobs, gives free estimates and was very reasonably priced. A recent Thumbtack customer said the company canceled the first appointment and then did not show for the second, with no call or text.

A 2025 customer said SOS fixed a roof valve and then fixed a toilet while there. A 2025 reviewer said Shawn explored a few options for their shower and then returned to fix it quickly.

A 2024 customer said Shaun knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it in under an hour. A 2024 customer was having a floor put in during a blizzard when the floor under the toilet turned out to be rotted and the flange wrong. That 2024 customer said Shaun cut out the bad and put in the good in time for the flooring crew. A 2024 reviewer said SOS replaced their water heater quickly and, on a separate occasion, fixed a leak in the bathtub and toilet, and called the price fair.

A 2022 customer said he worked out problems in two of their three floor units, repaired a toilet flange and snaked, and called the pricing affordable.

**Strengths:**
- Small jobs taken — a recent customer said Shaun gives free estimates
- Fast diagnosis — a 2024 customer said the fix took under an hour
- Water heater replacement — a 2024 customer said it was replaced quickly

**Concerns:**
- Missed appointments — a recent customer reported a cancellation, then a no-show

**Where sources disagree:**
- The company's own statements differ on its experience: 17 years in business on its website, more than 24 years of industry experience on HomeAdvisor and Angi, and over 10 years on Thumbtack.
