A 2025 customer described extensive electrical work at a daughter's 1930 home in Portland, ME: outlets brought up to code, rewiring of a basement that previously did not work, and two Google cameras/lights installed outside. That 2025 customer named Daryn as the owner and called the quotes fair. A 2025 customer said Daryn installed an EV charging station and wired a pool heater. In that 2025 account, Daryn noticed on his first visit that the heater was placed incorrectly, and after the customer repositioned it he came back the very next day and completed the job. A 2025 customer who bought a hot tub said the company was able to get over in a few days. That 2025 customer wrote that Ryan and Lucas figured out exactly what was needed and got it done, and made quick and clean work of it even though the electrical panel was in a finished basement. A 2026 customer said the company gave a reasonable quote, was on time and was done in a few hours. A 2026 customer said the workspaces were cleaned thoroughly and that they took extra time to make sure everything was level on the walls. **Strengths:** - EV charger install — a 2025 customer said Daryn installed one at home - Hot tub wiring — a 2025 customer said Ryan and Lucas got it done - Clean workspaces — a 2026 customer said workspaces were cleaned thoroughly ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.6 stars from 11 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Southern%20Maine%20Electric%20Inc.&query_place_id=ChIJf6kCJPG_skwRpVhqTE6rzRQ) — “Google: 4.6★ from 11 ratings” - Its website names Portland, Saco, Wells, Sanford and Dayton as its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://southernmaineelectricincme.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Portland, Saco, Wells, Sanford, Dayton” - A 2025 customer said the company brought outlets up to code, rewired a basement and installed two exterior Google cameras/lights at a 1930 Portland home _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChZDSUhNMG9nS0VQU245c2lsNThlTGRnEAE!2m1!1s0x0:0x14cdab4e4c6a58a5!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEPSn9sil58eLdg%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Southern Maine Electric Inc. did extensive electrical work for my daughter's home in Portland, ME.
