In 2024, a Google reviewer wrote "Master carpenter and reliable contractor" and recommended the company. A 2024 Google customer gave one star and said several parts of an $85,000 renovation were botched. That 2024 customer said an AC installation exposed the home to carbon monoxide, and listed defective workmanship and no permits among the problems. The same 2024 customer said the contractor damaged the house, at a cost of thousands of dollars. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0547664, as expired, held by Spectrum Builders. **Strengths:** - Carpentry praise — a 2024 reviewer wrote "Master carpenter and reliable contractor" **Concerns:** - Botched renovation — a 2024 customer described problems with an $85,000 renovation - Carbon monoxide exposure — a 2024 customer said an AC installation caused it - Missing permits — a 2024 customer said the renovation had no permits ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes its Houzz portfolio as commercial and residential projects, including renovations of 200 year old antique homes _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/general-contractors/spectrum-builders-llc-pfvwus-pf~1227205939) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): Spectrum Builders' portfolio is made up of various types of commercial and residential …” - A 2024 Google reviewer called it a "Master carpenter and reliable contractor" _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSURUamViYW9RRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x5d699393336aeaa5!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDTjebaoQE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Master carpenter and reliable contractor.
