On its BBB profile it describes itself as selling fuel oil to residential, commercial and industrial customers, with Dwyer Heating & Air Conditioning as a division that installs and services heating and air conditioning systems, and says it was established in 1937. A 2023 customer said refills came automatically, without calling every month, and that the drivers were so quiet the only sign of a delivery was the receipt in the mailbox. A 2025 customer said Star took over their home heating oil service and installed a large propane tank, and was patient with their questions about it. A 2025 customer who had a new oil-fired boiler installed by the company in 2013 said that job went smoothly, and that the company came out within one day to diagnose a small valve leak. A 2026 customer said Bob, a service technician, responded quickly to help thaw the water pipes on their first-floor heating zone. A 2024 customer said that each of the few times they called in a pinch, somebody was there the same day. A 2022 customer who needed their oil tank evaluated said the office told them that unless the tank was actively leaking it was fine, and they switched to another company. Its Massachusetts HVAC licence, number 503-SM-B, is expired on the state registry. The BBB grades the company A+. **Strengths:** - Automatic oil refills — a 2023 customer said deliveries came without calling - Same-day help — a 2024 customer said someone came each time they called - Boiler installation — a 2025 customer said a 2013 install went smoothly **Concerns:** - Expired HVAC licence — expired on the Massachusetts state registry - Oil tank evaluation — a 2022 customer was told to wait for a leak ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Sells fuel oil to residential customers, with Dwyer Heating & Air Conditioning as a heating and air conditioning division, per its BBB profile _(confidence: medium)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/foxboro/profile/air-conditioning-contractor/star-petroleum-co-inc-0021-10015) — “About (Better Business Bureau, self-described): Dwyer Heating & Air Conditioning, a division of Star Petroleum, Inc., installs and services …” - Massachusetts HVAC licence 503-SM-B is expired on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://occupationallicensingandpermitting.mass.gov/madol/s/license-search-page) — “MA hvac license 503-SM-B registry-verified expired — registry holder of record: Star Petroleum Co Inc” - BBB grade A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/foxboro/profile/air-conditioning-contractor/star-petroleum-co-inc-0021-10015) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - A 2023 customer described automatic oil refills _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSURSbHV6Q25RRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x23e5994405eec796!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDRluzCnQE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ I like this company; quick and efficient service.
