## The honest read

Start Moving LLC carries 4.8 stars from 65 Google ratings and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. A 2026 customer described it as a moving company out of Monroe, CT.

A recent customer said the crew got a large leather sofa through the doorway without removing an Andersen sliding door, and without a scratch to the couch, the walls or the door frame. A recent customer said they coordinated a move to a storage facility one day followed by a whole house move the next. A recent customer said the company was flexible through multiple changes of dates and wrapped each item while packing the truck. A recent customer said a text alert came before an on-time arrival.

A 2025 customer whose rented truck held only three-quarters of their things said Hans and his team, moving someone into the same building, stepped in, packed the rest and drove it from Connecticut to NYC. A 2025 customer said they took apart a king bed that had been built in the room at the old condo and rebuilt it. A 2025 customer said they needed a junk removal service for cleaning out old furniture and found the pricing transparent and fair. A 2024 customer said they moved an upright piano that involved 3 sets of stairs. A 2023 customer said Hans and his team moved the family from CT to Virginia, including picking up and re-packing items from a third-party storage space, in a move that began on a Monday and ended on Friday.

A 2024 customer said one of the two movers did most of the work, loading the truck took a long time, the family ended up carrying things upstairs themselves, and the owner hung up on them during calls about the bill before taking money off the invoice.

**Strengths:**
- Careful sofa handling — a recent customer said nothing was scratched
- Flexible scheduling — a recent customer said multiple date changes were handled
- A last-minute rescue — a 2025 customer said the team finished a move to NYC
- Bed disassembly — a 2025 customer said a built-in-room king bed was rebuilt

**Concerns:**
- An uneven crew — a 2024 customer said one mover did most of the work
- A billing dispute — a 2024 customer said the owner hung up on them
