## The honest read

Stevens Mechanical's website lists ductless heat pumps, water heater services, central air, furnace tune-ups and oil tank replacement among its services, and it says it has been in business 14 years. Its stated service area includes Rochester, Dover, Portsmouth, Hampton and York.

A 2026 customer said a zone valve was stuck open, and Lee came right out and fixed it for way less than the estimate they had from another company. A 2026 customer wrote about a late-night heating emergency in extremely cold weather: the call was answered immediately, and once on site he explained every step and why the part needed to be replaced. A 2026 customer said Lee fixed the problem after a lengthy trouble-shooting session and was very reasonable on price. A 2026 customer said precise instructions over the phone helped them fix the problem without a visit.

In a 2022 review, a customer with a house in Fryeburg, ME said Lee Stevens installed a new oil tank with a 30 year warranty and removed the old one, at a price still under other quotes. A 2024 customer said Lee installed a new oil tank in their home and showed up on time. A 2023 customer said two oil companies had called their oil tank cracked and leaking, and it turned out to have only scratches and dirt on the bottom, with no cracks or leaks.

A 2023 customer said he answered the phone at 3 a.m. and responded quickly. A 2025 customer said Lee handled a last-minute expansion tank replacement at good pricing.

**Strengths:**
- Oil tank installation — a 2022 customer said the old tank was removed too
- Late-night answer — a 2023 customer said he picked up at 3 in the morning
- Zone valve repair — a 2026 customer paid way less than another estimate
- Phone guidance — a 2026 customer fixed the problem from phone instructions
