## The honest read

Stony Brook Landscaping is the kind of company an HOA keeps on retainer for the long haul: the one detailed account on Google describes a homeowners association contract for private-road maintenance that's run for years, with a driver salting a resident's driveway during an ice storm — work well outside what the contract required.

The company says it's been in business since June 1994, when Kevin Beaudoin and Bill Woodward started it as Stony Brook Lawn Care Service; it became Stony Brook Landscaping Inc. in 1999. It's based in Chelmsford and lists a service area running through the Merrimack Valley — Lowell, Billerica, Burlington, Westford, Concord, Lexington, Arlington, Belmont, Dracut, Tyngsboro, Ayer, Shirley and Devens.

It also states it's a Techo-Pro Certified Installer, a hardscape-specific credential worth asking about if paver or retaining-wall work is part of your project.

This is a strong call for an HOA or property manager who wants one landscaper for the long haul; confirm which towns on that list currently get regular crews before booking.

**Strengths:**
- Long-term HOA contract — years of private-road maintenance work
- Above-and-beyond service — unpaid ice-storm driveway salting cited
