Its website lists Ridgefield, Redding, Bethel, Newtown, Westport, Wilton, Greenwich, Fairfield and Putnam as its service area. A recent customer said Darius, Max and the crew came the same day a quote was requested and removed a tree that was dangerously close to the house. A recent customer said Darius and the crew pruned a 100-foot tree without hitting the pool or the shrubs and small trees below, then cleaned up the area. After high winds cracked several trees at the center, a recent customer said they gave detailed assessments and took the trees down safely. One recent customer wrote that Darius and his partner handled stump grinding, tree cutting, cutting to length and stacking. To reach one tree, a recent customer said they had to go back and forth across a brook in the back yard. A recent customer said Darius came to cut down overgrown trees near the house within a week, and the stumps were ground the same day. A 2026 customer said it was about the fifth time they had hired Darius and crew. A 2025 customer said they took down two trees, cut the trunk into sections for a wood stove, chipped the branches for mulch and ground the stumps, with less than a week from quote to finish. A 2025 customer described a double-trunk oak that was rotten ten feet up, which Darius, Max and the crew removed safely along with the other trees. After a fallen tree blocked the road in their neighborhood, a 2025 customer said Sun Bear and Max felled several deteriorating old trees that endangered the house and power lines, then landscaped the disturbed areas. A 2025 customer said Darius and Max removed trees from an overgrown property and planted a dozen new trees. A 2022 customer said they did serious pruning and removed a dead tree. **Strengths:** - Same-day response — a recent customer said they came the day of the quote request - Careful pruning — a 100-foot tree pruned without hitting the pool below - Stump grinding — a recent customer said stumps were ground the same day - Repeat hiring — a 2026 customer said it was about their fifth time ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as a family-owned tree care and landscaping business with over 25 years of experience _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.sunbeartreecare.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Sun Bear & Max Tree and Landscape specialize in expert tree care and landscaping services, ensuring your ou…” - Website lists Ridgefield, Redding, Bethel, Newtown, Westport, Wilton, Greenwich, Fairfield and Putnam as its service area _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.sunbeartreecare.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Ridgefield, Redding, Bethel, Newtown, Westport, Wilton, Greenwich, Fairfield, Putnam” - Came the same day a quote was requested and removed a tree dangerously close to a house, per a recent customer _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tGVFRUTm5hM2RoVW14dldWVm1NVWd4ZUdSSGFuYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x60532a4d351b5c92!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkFTTTNna3dhUmxvWVVmMUgxeGRHanc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Darius, Max, and his entire crew did an amazing job!
