## The honest read

Surfside Pool Company is a family-owned pool, spa and fencing business founded in 1972 by Rick Hajjar and Philip Rivers, and has grown to six locations across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It holds a Better Business Bureau A+ rating (the business is not BBB-accredited) and sells, services and installs pools, spas and fencing for homeowners.

Reviews from 2023 through 2026 are heavily positive and consistently praise the retail and service side of the business — free water testing, honest no-pressure advice, and knowledgeable, friendly staff who help customers find parts other stores don't carry. A handful of older reviews from 2022 described problems on the installation side, including late work, unprofessional communication, and a missed follow-up appointment to finish hooking up equipment.

**Strengths:**
- Highly rated pool supply and service counter — free water testing and no-pressure advice repeatedly praised
- Family-owned since 1972 — grown to six Massachusetts and New Hampshire locations

**Concerns:**
- A few 2022 reviews cited late, unprofessional installation work and a missed follow-up appointment
