## The honest read

The Drywall Specialist names New Haven, Middlesex and New London as its service area on its website.

A 2022 customer said the company replaced the ceiling in their bathroom, a 12-foot vaulted ceiling with a skylight, after a previous roof leak and popped nails. That 2022 customer said Byron and his crew came back on time to install the new insulation and drywall. In a 2022 review, a customer finishing off their attic said Byron and Franklin and their team built new walls, installed a door, and insulated and drywalled the walls and ceiling of a large area.

A 2024 customer said the company finished off their basement ceiling, which was partially sheetrock and drop ceiling, completed it within a week and cleaned up before leaving. A 2023 customer said the company came out to remove a dated popcorn ceiling and left the room very clean. A 2026 customer said Byron and his team were punctual and finished before schedule.

In a 2023 review, a customer who had Byron sheetrock an apartment said he subbed out the hanging and the taping work to different guys and the results were terrible, with visible screws and ripped drywall paper. That 2023 customer said Byron agreed to refund some of the money, then did not and stopped responding to calls.

**Strengths:**
- A vaulted bathroom ceiling — a 2022 customer described new insulation and drywall installed
- An attic finish — a 2022 customer said walls, a door and drywall went in
- A basement ceiling — a 2024 customer said it was completed within a week
- Popcorn ceiling removal — a 2023 customer said the room was left very clean
- A fair price — a 2022 customer called the price very fair

**Concerns:**
- An apartment sheetrock job — a 2023 customer said the results were terrible
- A promised refund — a 2023 customer said it was not paid
