## The honest read

The Green Gleam is a house cleaning business whose website lists Woonsocket, Cranston, Providence, North Smithfield, Cumberland and Lincoln as its service area. Its website says the business started after headaches, skin irritation and respiratory issues the writer linked to harsh chemicals in everyday cleaning products. A customer said Joyce and her team use products that are safe for their family and are in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

A customer who has apartment turnovers said Green Gleam cleans the dirt and grime each time. In r/providence, a commenter wrote that they ended up firing someone else and hiring Green Gleam, which was "60 bucks cheaper." On Nextdoor in Providence, RI, a poster called it way more reasonable than companies they had hired that charged double.

In a 2020 review, a customer said the owner, Joyce, washed floors and windows inside and out and confirmed which areas she was cleaning before starting. In a 2020 review, a customer who needed an apartment cleaned after tenants moved out said she came out the same day because of a cancellation and was reasonably priced. In a 2020 review, a customer said they started with a one-time thorough cleaning and then hired Joyce for every other week.

A customer who hired Green Gleam for an $80 post-move-out clean of a kitchen and appliances wrote that, two hours in, she said she had cleaned an unrequested pantry area outside the agreed scope and demanded a price adjustment. When they declined to pay for the extra work, that customer said she stopped working mid-job and left. That customer also wrote that she accepted $100 in cash, $80 for the job plus a $20 tip, and refused to issue a written receipt.

**Strengths:**
- Family-safe products — a customer said Joyce's team uses them
- A same-day clean — a 2020 customer said she came after a cancellation
- Floors and windows — a 2020 customer said Joyce washed them inside and out

**Concerns:**
- A walked-off job — a customer said she left after they declined extra charges
- A refused receipt — a customer said none was issued for $100 cash
