## The honest read

The Renaissance Handyman is an Old Saybrook handyman business whose HomeAdvisor profile names Eric as its owner and operator and claims over 20 years of experience. Its website leans on decks, offering new or refreshed ones built to the customer's ideas, along with free estimates.

Google shows 5 ratings averaging 5 stars, and HomeAdvisor and Angi each show four at 5.0. A January 2026 Google reviewer called Eric a handyman who gets the job done right, and in a February 2024 review a customer said Eric installed a storm door that had been damaged in the wind, describing him as on time, responsive and quick. The older accounts date from 2019 and 2020: a March 2020 review praised work on a deck, a February 2020 customer said he came after a full day's work to fix a broken lock, and a March 2019 reviewer said his quote beat the others they had gotten, that he was punctual, and that he left no big mess during or after the work.

Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0646573, is active, held by The Renaissance Handyman LLC. Its BBB grade is an A+.

**Strengths:**
- Deck work — website features decks, a 2020 review praised one
- Prompt service — reviewers describe on-time, quick visits
