## The honest read

A recent Google customer had their steps completely redone by The Stair Repair LLC and said Mike's work on the stairs and railings was done with precision, care and attention to detail. On Houzz, the company describes itself as family owned, based in Southbury, CT, and specializing in custom stair and railing installations and repairs; its HomeAdvisor profile places it in Danbury, CT.

A 2015 customer said Mike removed and replaced the stair rails, posts and balusters on their staircase and helped with ordering the materials. A 2016 customer said Mike replaced their banister, tightened up squeaky steps and custom designed the posts. A 2016 customer said Mike removed old-fashioned knee walls from their front stairs, installed new railings on both sides and put new tile in the entry. A 2015 customer said Michael discovered numerous mistakes in the dimensions of earlier design work by a design firm, and made suggestions for the banister and newel post.

The work goes beyond stairs. A 2014 customer said Michael rebuilt a backyard deck, suggested reusing the wood that was in good shape alongside new wood and railings to keep costs under control, and finished within budget. A 2014 customer said the company built a custom built-in for a mudroom. A 2018 customer said they chose the wood and stain for a piece of custom furniture for their family room after sketches were drawn up.

A 2018 customer said Mike sent a quote with two options, one less expensive than the other, arrived on time and left the home spotless. A 2020 customer said Mike arrived on time for a small project and let them set their own price.

Houzz shows 5.0 stars from 12 ratings and lists Best of Houzz awards for 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019.
