## The honest read

Thomas J. Costello Landscaping holds 4.8 stars across 91 Google ratings. Its website says it has been in business 18 years and names Stamford and New Canaan as its service area.

A recent customer said the lawn gets timely applications to prevent diseases and weeds, and called the service respectful of property, outdoor furniture and garden items. A recent customer who described themselves as a long-time customer said everyone was nice, from the owner to the crew who cut the lawn to the women who work in the office.

A 2024 customer described work on a retaining wall that had been increasingly at risk, with stairs added where the wall used to just be a drop, at a price competitive with two other quotes, and said the team cleaned up afterward. A 2025 customer said Thomas and his crew expanded their patio and installed a rock wall in the backyard, with no bait and switch on the quote. A 2023 review from the Tennis Facility at Oak Hills Park in Norwalk said T C Costello Landscaping put in a new stone patio there at a reasonable price.

A 2025 customer said the company designed and built an upgraded front entrance for the lower section of their condo association, and that day to day it maintained the lawn and shrubs and cleared snow from the condo driving area. A 2026 customer described a tick treatment contract with the company in 2025 and called the price very reasonable. A 2023 customer said Tom did their pool landscape project in 2015 and his team came back that fall to refresh it with trimming and pruning. A 2022 customer said the crew bagged and hauled away the cut grass and was also hired to clean their gutters.

A recent customer gave two stars: they called the work great but said the workers who come out don't know the contract, the office says to wait for the boss, and the reply never comes. A 2026 customer complained that teams of 5+ leaf blowers run in a line, wasting gas when there are no leaves on the ground, for 4+ hours per week in the warm months. A 2024 customer complained of hours of racket from a battalion of leaf blowers. A 2024 customer first praised the work and a switch to electric leaf blowers, then amended the review to say the company had not switched to electric as promised.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0632919, as active, held by Thomas J Costello Landscaping LLC.
