## The honest read

Tom's Home Improvement is a North Billerica, MA business. Its Massachusetts HIC licence, number 175111, is expired on the state registry. On its Angi profile the business describes itself as locally based and focused on quality work, and invites calls for a free estimate.

A 2015 Angi review describes hiring them to shovel a roof and remove ice dams. In that 2015 account, they put ice pucks on the roof to let the ice melt, and a worker, Patrick, later decided he could not remove the gutters without causing damage and treated the ice dam instead. The same 2015 reviewer wrote that over 2 weeks their messages went unreturned and promised visits were no-shows, that a piece of shingle and damage to the gutter turned up afterward, and that a requested copy of the company's insurance never arrived.

**Concerns:**
- Ice dam job — 2015 review describes no-shows and gutter damage
- Insurance copy — a 2015 reviewer never received the requested copy
- HIC licence — expired on the state registry
