## The honest read

A 7inch rain hit in August 2024, and a Google reviewer who had just had an interior French drain and sump pump put in wrote back the same month: the basement stayed bone-dry. United Waterproofing is a Ridgefield company doing basement drains, sump pumps and flood cleanup; its website says it has been in business 20 years and offers 24/7 emergency service. It holds 4.9★ from 95 Google ratings.

Matt is the name customers write about. In a September 2026 review, a homeowner described his crew removing drywall about 2 feet up, jackhammering the basement perimeter, installing drains and a battery back up sump pump, re-pouring the floor and repairing the drywall — with no water through a wet summer. An August 2026 customer who had four contractors quote the job said United started within one week, when the others said 5-6weeks. A September 2026 review describes a full French drain installed within a 3 day span in a finished basement. In an October 2024 review, after the August 2024 storm, Matt's crew demoed drywall and flooring in about 2 days, upgraded a crushed French drain pipe to SDR 8 inch, and dug a trench across a yard with an inground pool.

Jason's name comes up too: a November 2023 customer wrote that his team identified a solution after a fall flood and left the work area spotless, and an August 2023 review describes him waterproofing a restaurant. A January 2025 customer said a failing pump was replaced at no charge within the warranty period.

Scheduling drew a complaint. In an April 2024 review that still recommended the company, a customer wrote that a miscommunication with the office delayed the start by about a month, the date was pushed back at the last minute, and the crew arrived about 3 hours late on the first day — though the job then finished within the promised timeline.
