## The honest read

VM Improvements says on its website that it has been in business for six years, and it offers free estimates. On Houzz, the company describes itself as a small company operated by the owner, who it says has his own hands on each project.

The Houzz listing names countertops in granite, marble, quartzite, laminate and wood among its services, along with tile and backsplash installation and basement remodeling, and it shows two projects.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0667612, held by VM Improvements LLC, as inactive.
