## The honest read

Wesley Price gets called when the job is complicated. In a May 2026 review, a homeowner described his crew stepping in and taking over an abandoned project after major issues with another builder. A February 2025 reviewer had the company renovate an 1850s antique house. In a January 2026 review, a couple who completed a new high-performance home in Sandwich credited Wesley with the calls on insulation, air sealing, windows and mechanicals.

W.D. Price is a Yarmouth Port general contractor working Cape Cod, with Wesley Price listed as president and owner. Its own description runs from custom home building and remodeling to ADUs, modular and panelized construction, in-house architectural and engineering services, and year-round estate care. Houzz lists him as a PHIUS Certified Passive House Consultant, which fits the building-science detail in that Sandwich account; the same profile lists a 2016 Architectural Digest nod for the most beautiful coffee shop in Massachusetts.

Additions are the day-to-day. BuildZoom's permit history shows 35 permitted projects on Cape Cod, concentrated in home additions, at a typical permit value around $36,500. A July 2024 reviewer credited the company with getting through the town approval process and finishing a new addition largely on time; a May 2026 client had a garage addition and kitchen renovation done in South Yarmouth and said the project stayed on schedule. Another May 2026 review covers a renovation the writer called soup to nuts, turning a West Barnstable building into a permanent home for the Cape Cod Toy Library.

One of the recent reviews comes from a subcontractor rather than a homeowner, and it is the more interesting for that: the trade partner wrote about how well the company manages the job. An October 2025 client made the same point from the other side, saying it is rare to find a builder who commands that kind of loyalty from subs and trade partners. A November 2025 client had the documentation and photo updates for a new bathroom and laundry room kept in an app that was easy to navigate.

Two things to raise before signing. That October 2025 renovation finished on time and, in the writer's words, for the most part on budget, and the July 2024 addition finished largely on time — so ask how change orders and schedule slips get handled on a job your size. The Houzz side of the written history is also dated: all eight of those reviews were written in 2020 and 2021.

For an addition, a custom or energy-focused build, or a project another builder left unfinished, this is the kind of Cape Cod outfit that takes that work on. Ask for access to the project app one client described, and get the allowances and change-order terms into the contract before demolition starts.

**Strengths:**
- Home additions — BuildZoom's permit history shows 35 Cape Cod projects, mostly additions
- Complex rescues — a 2026 reviewer credits taking over an abandoned project
- Building science — Passive House credential, and a 2026 high-performance home in Sandwich
- Town approvals — a 2024 reviewer credits navigating the permitting process
- Project documentation — a 2025 client got photo updates through an app
- Trade-partner loyalty — a subcontractor's review praises how they run jobs

**Concerns:**
- Budget on big jobs — one 2025 renovation came in mostly, not fully, on budget

**Where sources disagree:**
- Directory records disagree on the licences: the Better Business Bureau page lists home improvement contractor registration 199794 and construction supervisor licence CS-104189, while BuildZoom's profile lists that same supervisor licence twice with different expirations and adds two older home improvement contractor registration numbers it marks inactive.
