The same reviewer said the crew cleaned up when they were done, was polite, respected their privacy, and that they would hire Whitecap again. The company says it has been in business 40 years and lists a service area running from Belmont and Bucksport to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Searsport and Waldo. Its website offers free estimates and says it is insured. In February 2025 a reviewer said Whitecap had plowed their business's parking lot and shoveled its walks for five winters, and called the company reliable. A 2022 commenter on r/maine, who said a friend owns the business, called it an honest outfit and very busy. In a January 2023 Google review, a customer said they called a few times for an estimate, left a message each time and never got a call back. A September 2022 reviewer called Whitecap the worst building company they had dealt with, "mean and unhelpful." Google shows 3.9 stars from 7 ratings. **Strengths:** - Clean, polite crew — cleaned up and respected privacy, July 2025 - Winter plowing — one business client served five winters **Concerns:** - Unreturned calls — no callback on a January 2023 estimate request - Rude treatment — called mean and unhelpful in a September 2022 review ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A July 2025 Google reviewer called Dann and the crew knowledgeable home builders who cleaned up when done and respected their privacy _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2xOMGRXaFBSM3BrVFhCM1lXRlBVRXhGTkdKRGJGRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xcfda438fd0231584!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOlN0dWhPR3pkTXB3YWFPUExFNGJDbFE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Dann and the crew at Whitecap are the best. Seems like an extremely professional company. - **5/5 · Google Reviews · Harold Hill · 2023-01-26**: The young lady at White went out her to help me find someone who could help a friend remove snow from her driveway this past Wednesday. I would recommend them for anything in the construction business, she was so helpful. Thanks again for you help - **1/5 · Google Reviews · Steve Apetz · 2023-01-08**: I've called them a few times for an estimate for a job. Left message each time.
