Last 6 months: 3 reviews, 1 negative. ## The honest read Wilcox Tree Experts holds a 4.9-star average from 72 ratings on Google. The company's own site says it removes hazardous trees, does selective removal to let in more sunlight, clears land and grinds and removes stumps, and it says it has been in business 30 years. One recent customer noticed that the ground workers talk to the aerial worker through a radio headset, so nobody shouts over the equipment, and said there wasn't a leaf or stick left behind. A customer with a job of 20+ trees describes a smooth process from the quote through scheduling to final payment. A 2026 reviewer said they removed a very large white pine with full stump grinding and left no sign that a crane and bucket lift had been there. A 2025 customer said they removed six large hazardous trees at a price that customer called reasonable. A 2025 reviewer wrote that four trees came down by crane and the stumps were ground. A 2022 customer said Jason Wilcox explained a disease in a red maple and how to remedy it, and that the tree responded almost immediately. A 2023 builder wrote that Wilcox is one of their most reliable subcontractors. A customer of more than five years says the crew drove a large lift onto the property without discussing it, damaged the stone border on the driveway and compacted the lawn. That customer says the owner later came back and the cobblestone repair was fine, but the indents in the lawn remain. A 2022 customer said Wilcox removed most of a tree on a property line without notifying them before entering their property. **Strengths:** - Radio headsets — ground and aerial workers talk without shouting over equipment - A clean site — a recent customer found no leaf or stick left behind - Crane removals — a 2025 reviewer had four trees removed by crane - Tree health advice — a 2022 customer said Jason explained a maple's disease **Concerns:** - Lawn and driveway damage — a recent customer says a lift compacted the lawn - No notice — a 2022 customer said they entered the property unannounced ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.9-star average from 72 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Wilcox%20Tree%20Experts&query_place_id=ChIJH2CB3agi5okRx73j45OGuO4) — “Google: 4.9★ from 72 ratings” - The company says it has been in business 30 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://wilcoxtreeexperts.com) — “Self-reported 30 years in business” - Ground workers talk to the aerial worker through radio headsets, and the site was left without a leaf or stick behind _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT21oRU1VNWhWbVZXVW0xdWIwSXRORTlaTmxSUmVVRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xeeb88693e3e3bdc7!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmhEMU5hVmVWUm1ub0ItNE9ZNlRReUE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ This company is top notch.
