## The honest read

Yellow Plumbing LLC is a plumbing company with 5 stars from 120 Google ratings. Its website lists a service area running from New Haven, West Haven and Hamden out to Wallingford and Meriden, and advertises free estimates and 24/7 emergency service.

One customer had an old 40-gallon AO Smith water heater replaced and got $100 off the installation. A customer whose gas water heater tank was leaking all over the basement said Yellow Plumbing replaced it and removed the old one. A customer with a leaking basement pipe said they sent someone out the same day and repaired the leak. A customer said Avi and his team fixed a propane leak in their piping system, with everything fixed in 24 hours. A customer said Samuel replaced the water heater and expansion tank during an emergency at one of their stores.

A customer who gave 2 stars said the technician was professional and did excellent work, but the invoice arrived only after the job was complete, and the company would not provide a detailed list of the materials used or the labor rate, leaving no way to verify the $200 materials charge.

A 2026 customer said Yellow Plumbing handled a restaurant buildout in downtown New Haven, including a new gas service, two bathroom builds and full kitchen plumbing. A 2025 customer said Avi and his team redid a whole house's plumbing and heating, removing all the bathrooms and kitchen and adding a bathroom to a master bedroom. A 2026 customer whose pipe burst in a New Haven condominium said Avi, the proprietor, answered the phone himself; he had no one who could make it at the last minute, but made it happen at the first opportunity. A 2025 customer said Mike changed a rusted pipe in around half an hour.

**Strengths:**
- Water heater replacements — a 40-gallon unit and a leaking gas tank replaced
- Same-day leak repair — a customer said a basement pipe was fixed that day
- Propane leak fix — a customer said Avi's team fixed it within 24 hours

**Concerns:**
- Billing detail — a customer said materials and labor rate were not itemized
