## The honest read

Zak Construction, LLC is a New Hampshire renovation company whose website lists a service area that includes Andover, Boscawen, Bow, Concord, Franklin, Henniker, Hopkinton and Hooksett, and the company says it has been in business six years.

A recent customer said Tim walked them through the entire process of finishing their basement. A 2026 customer said Tim, James and their crew installed a large number of new construction windows plus a new front door and kitchen door, and took care of wood rot found on two sides of the house during cold weather. A 2026 customer hired the company to replace an older section of deck, add privacy and install a couple of storm doors, and called Tim's quote perfectly reasonable.

A 2025 customer said Zak Construction removed old cedar clapboard siding, repaired water-damaged areas, wrapped the house in Tyvek, installed vinyl siding and applied metal trim around the windows, doors and roof edges. A 2025 customer said a large window was installed on a very cold and windy day while the cold air was kept out. A 2024 customer described a complete demo of a deck and siding elevation while the roof system was maintained, and said the company helped when Pella delivered all the doors and windows in the wrong size. A 2023 customer said Tim put in a new TREX deck and removed the old wooden one. A 2022 customer said the project replaced double windows with a sliding glass door and added a second story deck, and that all added costs were discussed and agreed upon in advance.

A 2024 customer said Timothy gave a quote in June and planned to come in July or early August, then near the end of July moved the work to December and said they had never confirmed or given a deposit. The 2024 customer said the estimate had no language about a deposit and that they could not get an email or telephone response from him afterward.

**Strengths:**
- Window and door work — a 2026 customer had many new windows installed
- Siding replacement — a 2025 customer had cedar clapboard replaced with vinyl
- A TREX deck — a 2023 customer had the old wooden deck replaced
- Costs agreed upfront — a 2022 customer said added costs were discussed in advance

**Concerns:**
- A rescheduled job — a 2024 customer said work moved to December, then calls went unanswered
