Dell's Appliance on Mystic Ave in Medford is the shop people call when a washer, fridge, dishwasher or range is worth saving rather than replacing — and customers writing in 2025 and 2026 said their families had been calling it for thirty years. It both repairs appliances and sells them, and several reviewers moved from one to the other in the same conversation. When the repairs go well, they go well in a specific way. A January 2026 customer had a five-year-old stackable washer fixed by a technician named Anthony, who replaced the motor, leveled the machine and restacked the dryer, and said it ran better afterwards than when it was first installed. In a May 2025 review, a dead dishwasher was diagnosed and fixed in half an hour on the Monday after a Friday call, inside the promised two-hour window. A 2022 reviewer had a Jenn-Air motor-pump assembly replaced across two visits, with care taken not to damage the hardwood floor. A 2023 customer had a technician return at no charge just to quiet a noisy fridge fan. On Nextdoor in March 2026, a Somerville neighbor put it as: if they can't fix it, no one can. The recent picture is different, and it is the reason to read carefully. Both reviews from the last six months are one-star. In July 2026 a customer of thirty years said nobody called as the arrival window closed, the dispatcher was short with them, and the senior technician stopped the junior one from looking at anything else — $120 for the visit. In March 2026 another customer said the problem was not fixed, no parts were used, and they were still charged $200. Those echo older complaints: a 2021 reviewer said a technician pressed buttons for five minutes, charged $90 and declared the motor probably broken; a 2022 reviewer was no-showed on an appointment booked through the website. One more thing belongs in the open: a September 2025 reviewer wrote that an employee at the shop made repeated unwanted romantic advances after she said she was there on business, and advised other women to stay away. That is one person's account of one employee, and nothing in the writing settles it — but it is specific, and worth knowing before walking in. If you have an older appliance and want an honest repair-or-replace opinion, this is the kind of long-established shop that gives one. Get the diagnostic fee and what it covers in writing before the visit, and confirm the arrival window the morning of.
“Ask Dell’s Appliance in Medford. If they can’t fix it, no one can.”
Not what they once were! I’ve been a customer for 30 years. When I called cause their show-up window was closing, and nobody had contacted us, the dispatcher got smart with me. My brown belt 27 year old son was uncomfortable with the guys who showed up. We paid $120 for that and when the younger guy offered to fix or look into anything else (while they were there), the older guy forbade him from helping. They said there was no guarantee the replacement part would last - but knew nothing about the Dell Sales process - by then I’d decided not to buy from them anyhow. I emailed them to speak to management about this thru their official email / site and got NO response. So here I am, sharing our awful experience. Never was Dell this bad in the past. We’ll be looking elsewhere, you’ve lost our business.
Didn’t fix my issue, said they couldn’t do it and then charged me $200 for parts and labor but no parts or labor, they simply looked into my sink. Avoid this place.
Excellent and honest work.
Anthony and his partner from Dell’s Appliance were incredible. They repaired my 5-year-old stackable washer (originally installed by another company before I switched to Dell’s four years ago). Anthony replaced the washer motor, leveled the washer, and restacked the dryer. The washer honestly works better now than it did when it was first installed. I trust Dell’s completely, and I’ll be requesting Anthony for any future repairs. Exceptional service all around.
Had to purchase a new refrigerator for a very difficult space. Involved several phone calls and 2 visits to measure the space. They helped me find just the right fridge at a reasonable price. Technicians and delivery men were very pleasant and helpful.
