Frequently asked questions

Is Tavlee free to use?
Yes. Searching, browsing, reading contractor pages, saving contractors, and comparing them are all free for homeowners.
Does Tavlee take payment to rank contractors higher?
No. Rankings can't be bought — contractors are ranked on the evidence Tavlee has gathered, not on who paid. Pilot partners may appear in a separate, clearly labeled Spotlight shelf; that placement never changes anyone's ranking, rating, or written read.
Where does Tavlee's information come from?
From publicly available sources: online business listings, review platforms, and public government registries such as state licensing databases. Tavlee combines them into one profile per contractor.
How does Tavlee rate a contractor?
Each rating is synthesized from reviews gathered across every source Tavlee can find, weighted by how credible and how recent each review is, and discounted when the track record is thin. A business with no phone or website on record also loses a fixed 1.5 stars per missing channel — a contractor you can't reach isn't one you can hire. Every synthesized claim cites the source it came from.
Do I need an account to save a contractor?
No. You can save with the heart without an account. Signing in later keeps those saves with your profile across devices.
How do I claim my business on Tavlee?
Open your contractor page and choose to claim it, sign in, then complete two steps: prove your identity and prove your authority to represent the business.
