D&D Mulch and Landscape has been running trucks full of bark mulch, screened loam, and crushed stone out of Braintree since 1989, and by its own account has grown to about a dozen retail yards across Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. President Paul Doherty still signs the company's own "Letter from the President," and the business pairs bulk material delivery with hands-on residential and commercial landscape work, including masonry, hardscape, and commercial snow plowing. The most recent Google review, from this spring, is a short thumbs-up naming a helpful driver — nothing negative has landed on Google in the last six months. The longer view is more mixed: across 18 tracked reviews spanning 2015 through this year and five different sources, star counts run high on the surface, 4.2 on Google and 4.8 on Angi, but Angi's own review page flags two older disputes worth knowing about — a customer who says tree plantings failed without warranty coverage, met with a detailed written response from the company, and a homeowner who says a large landscaping project ran badly over budget and stalled out. Both read as one-off project disputes rather than a pattern running through the full review history. Before calling, ask directly about warranty terms on any plantings, especially anywhere without an irrigation system nearby — that's the specific gap one customer ran into. It's also worth confirming what's actually in a load of screened loam or fill material; one delivery drew a complaint about rocks and debris mixed into the loam that kept grass seed from taking. On the credibility side, the company carries an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, though it hasn't sought formal BBB accreditation. For straightforward mulch, stone, and loam delivery, the core of the business since 1989, the history here is long and the volume delivered is clearly large. For a bigger landscape construction or masonry project, get warranty and payment-schedule terms in writing up front, given the one major project dispute on record.

I had 3 yards of supposedly screened loam delivered a couple weeks ago. I am very disappointed with this company. Now that the loam has settled rocks, seashells, and glass are amongst the dirt. I'm not saying a little but so much that the grass seed I planted is not growing. I have mug and debris as a front lawn. It was delivered out of Bellingham. A few years ago I used the same company and never had this problem. They might be cheaper but I suggest you shop around. My dilemma now is where am I going to put all this debris. Very very disappointed and will never buy from D &D again!!!!

Ordered Screen Loam and 3/4 Bluestone. The quality of the material was good. The delivery driver was not only incredibly careful with the placement of the materials but also took the time to stop and check multiple times to ensure everything was positioned perfectly. Their attention to detail was truly impressive. It's clear that the driver takes great pride in their work and goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. I'm thoroughly impressed with this delivery experience and will definitely be using their services again in the future. Kudos to the driver and the entire team for their dedication to making customers feel valued and ensuring a job well done!
