Linehan Landscaping is a Salem, NH operation the company traces to 1976, when Larry Linehan Sr. started doing landscape maintenance on his own; the business was formalized under its current name in 1998, and BBB records put it at 27 years old today. Larry Jr., who has a business degree from UNH, now runs day-to-day operations alongside his father, and the company says it handles everything from routine mowing and cleanups to hardscaping, irrigation, tree care, and snow management for homes and businesses around Salem. On Google, the company holds a 4.8-star average across 20 ratings, and recent reviewers keep describing the same thing: dependable, professional crews who show up and do the job right, year after year. One customer this spring described handing over what they called "a forest of a yard" and having it fully cleared within a week at a price they were happy with. The BBB gives the business an A+ grade, though it is not a formally BBB-Accredited business. Not everything is clean, though. The review history includes at least one sharp complaint about a job that was promised and then repeatedly delayed, leaving the customer frustrated that the work was never completed as scheduled. Separately, a federal OSHA inspection turned up workplace-safety violations, with $6,810 in penalties still standing after an initial assessment of $14,754 — worth asking about directly, especially for anyone hiring them for larger construction or excavation work. Sources also don't agree on exactly how long the company has been around: its own website says "over two decades," the BBB puts it at 27 years, and one third-party directory claims "over 35 years." For routine maintenance, seasonal cleanups, and snow removal in the Salem area, the recent reviews point to a crew that shows up and finishes the work. Given the one reliability complaint and the OSHA record, it's worth confirming a firm schedule and asking about safety practices before booking anything larger, like a hardscaping or excavation project.

The most unreliable company in Salem, NH. They agree to jobs they can’t fulfill and then come up with childish excuses when they can’t do it. Edit: Despite what they claim in their reply, they had scheduled to do a fall cleanup at my house in Salem, NH, kept putting it off until December, and then said they didn't have time to complete it. Now I have a ruined yard to look forward to salvaging whenever the snow melts.
