Perennial Landscape Corporation has worked out of Winchester since 1995, when Scott Carzo started landscaping as a way to make extra money and found that simply showing up on time set him apart. He still runs it; the Better Business Bureau records the company as incorporated in 1997 with ten employees and Carzo as president, and puts its time in business at 31 years. What customers hired them for, over and over, is stone. A 2015 homeowner had a retaining wall built and said it was done to the highest standard, with the crew cleaning up daily and pressure-washing mud off the driveway at the end. A Concord client writing in 2014, ten years into the relationship, listed a bluestone patio, two walkways and a driveway — plus a fault in the home's stone foundation that the crew found and repaired. The bigger jobs run to whole-yard transformations. Two 2015 accounts describe backyards rebuilt around a pool and waterfall, one of them adding a shed, pergola, built-in grill and new fencing. A 2014 customer who had approached several firms said Perennial was the only one that took the time to understand the plan, worked with them to improve it, and finished on schedule, and singled out how consistently the crew cleaned up and how quickly the project lead flagged issues. The maintenance side is what keeps people. Two reviewers in 2014 were roughly twenty years in — spring and fall cleanups, mulched beds, tree planting, lawn repairs — and another described calling Perennial after a gas-line crew tore up the yard: they came back, cleared the mess, rebuilt the gardens and reseeded, and it had recovered by spring. The company carries an A+ grade with the Better Business Bureau, though it is not BBB-accredited, and is listed as a member of the Winchester Chamber of Commerce. Two things are worth sorting out before booking. The written history is dated — the newest account is from July 2018 — so ask for two or three references from the last year or two and photos of recent stonework. The listings also disagree on where they are: BBB places them in Winchester while their Houzz profile gives a 22 Torrice Drive, Woburn address and still describes the company as 'over 20 years' old, so confirm the current office and yard. For a homeowner in Winchester, Lexington, Concord or Andover who wants stonework and planting done once and then maintained by the same crew year after year, this is a long-established choice. Ask about current pricing and crew size, since the accounts describing that team are now several years old.
I hired Perennial Landscape to give my jaded front lawn a boost and more manicured look. From start to finish the level of service was excellent. Scott and his team are extremely knowledgeable, respectful, hardworking and personable. It was a joy to work with them and see the transformation in my garden. Many contractors promise high standards- Perennial delivers on their promise.
I hired Scott to remake my entire backyard including a pool & waterfall. His team made my home look and feel like a resort. Perennial was responsive and by far one of the most professional organizations I've worked with. I not only recommend this company but will use them again.
Perennial Landscape Corp. did a big job for us. They revamped our backyard, pool, deck and fencing. Their work was awesome as was their work ethic. They transformed our yard into a serene and beautiful spot with a waterfall, shed, built-in grill and pergola. Their work has undoubtedly increased the value of our home and increased the appreciation we have for it.
I just had a retaining wall built by a team from Perennial Landscape and it was a great experience with an excellent result. The work was done to the highest standard and the wall not only looks fabulous, I'm also confident it is built to last. All the team are all highly professional and great to work with. The workers were respectful and pleasant worked diligently and did a good job of cleaning up before leaving each day. At the end of the project they even pressure washed the muddy marks off my driveway. I am happy to recommend Perennial Landscape and will definitely contact them again for future projects.
We tried to work with a number of companies to implement our vision for our backyard renovation project. Of all the companies, Perennial Landscape was the only one who took the time to understand our vision, worked with us to improve our plan, and then completed the project on schedule. Given how expensive this project was, I expected all companies to be as communicative and timely and professional as Perennial, but I was shocked at how far above Perennial stands out. I really felt like they actually wanted me to be happy with the end product, and not that I was just another project to get through after we were done talking to the salesman. In addition to the great design work, their crew was very respectful, worked hard the entire time, always cleaned up after their daily work, was very friendly with my kids and were very responsive to any questions. I also really appreciated the open communication with the project lead, such that if an issue came up or if the lead had an idea for improving the vision, he quickly got in contact with me and involved me in the process. While my 2-year old is sad that we do not have any more construction vehicles in our backyard, I still can't believe how great this experience was and how happy I am with the end product. Every time I look at my backyard, I am reminded of how happy I am with the end results and I fondly remember the experience I had with Perennial Landscape.
