A J Waste Systems is a Cheshire carting company that rents dumpsters and picks up household trash and recycling. It lists Cheshire, Waterbury, Southington, North Haven and Hamden as its service area and says it has been in business 66 years. An nhregister.com article calls it the town's garbage and recycling hauler and says it will handle the bulky waste pick-up. A 2023 customer said the driver who dropped off a dumpster followed all instructions and was respectful of the property. In a 2022 review, a homeowner whose roofing company had contracted the dumpster said Matt from AJ Waste corrected an issue with its removal. A 2022 customer said trash missed on the Friday before Labor Day was picked up the next morning. A 2025 customer said an inexperienced driver scraped a new driveway and left the dumpster balanced with one wheel in the air, and a week later nothing had been done. A 2025 reviewer wrote that a dumpster delivery damaged driveway stones and that the company denied it. A 2025 customer said dumpster drop-off and pick-up were fine but the woman answering the phones was rude. A 2026 customer said the garbage men were not emptying cans and moved cans behind their cars. A newstimes.com article reports that Wallinger, the owner and operator of AJ Waste Systems, pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

AJ Waste Systems almost ran me over on 9/11/2026. The AJ Waste System driver did not slow down or acknowledge their unsafe driving.
I see how this company is run
We’ve had AJ waste for years. Originally had their residential dumpster until they did away with it. They replaced our dumpster with cans and all was fine until they switched our garbage men. Every week is an issue with them. Not emptying cans, purposely moving the cans behind our cars, and today being rude to one of our volunteers. We’ve complained several times and nothing has been resolved. Would rather bring my trash to the dump myself than deal with these guys.
Inexperienced driver couldn't get the wood blocks under wheels. Scraped the heck out of my new driveway, left dumpster balanced precariously with one wheel in the air, no wheels chocked, and so close to my garage that my home remodeling contractors can't even open the dumpster door to load it. Driver swore that his boss would be back to fix it immediately. This was hours ago and now it's getting dark. When that thing falls off and rolls into the house... Update: 1 week later they've done nothing. DIGIORGI, my contractor, says they will fix any damage.
First of all, I just wanna say one star they don’t have zero star I’ll put a zero star for this company. I don’t know how can this company be in a business? Do not make out of pay to this company because you will make the biggest mistake they will charge your car to your knowledge. They’re the worst company in Connecticut. They have no respect for the customer their disrespectful people I’ve been doing business with these people 15 years. I regret it every day I give this people business. They are ungrateful Company. They don’t care for the customers. They are rude. They are whole family working there Especially his nephew. Absolutely no customer service. They are horrible company. Do not waste your money here there are plenty of other companies you can do business I swear to God I never want to hurt nobody but it’s my obligation to make sure nobody else get burned to this horrible customer service I mean it you’re wasting your money in this company. They have zero respect for customers specially and auto pay people. They are very horrible. Mark my words don’t waste your money here They are absolutely very disrespectful Company. They should not be in business serving in public. One star is way too much below zero star
