I’ll give them 10 stars if I could for the great chimney repair job they did at my place. Definitely gonna use them again
The installer was awesome. He arrived as scheduled and quickly fixed my garage door. I will definitely hire again!
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. Most reviewers here are FAKE - look them up, they are not even from Stamford and they have history of giving reviews to garage doors companies. Now about my real experience in Stamford: Get a quote in writing first - final price was 6 times higher than orally implied! I contacted A1 Garage Doors and a contractor called M.S. Garage Doors was sent. They were reluctant to provide a clear quote upfront, only giving a vague ballpark number and insisting they start working immediately because they had “traveled far” to my house. I did not receive a written estimate or a breakdown of pricing before work began. After the work was completed, I was presented with a bill that was about 6× higher than what was verbally implied. Every item was billed separately at highly inflated prices (e.g., $575 per spring, $75 per pulley, and $1,475 for a Chamberlain garage door opener that retails around $270). Labor rates were never disclosed in advance either. When I disputed the charges, the company admitted that some pricing had not been approved in advance. Their proposed solution was to come back to my house to remove installed parts or offer partial refunds only for smaller components, which was not satisfactory. I strongly recommend getting a detailed written estimate, including labor rates and total price, before allowing any work to begin!
