Ace Appliance customers describe completed refrigerator, dryer, dishwasher and oven repairs, alongside complaints about bills, callbacks and unresolved work. The company’s website advertises appliance repair around Bergen County, New Jersey, and reports 34 years in business. An August 2026 customer places their job in Montclair, New Jersey. An October 2026 first-time caller said Marc arrived within the promised window, discussed repairing versus replacing a dryer without pressure and completed the repair in one visit using a part from his truck. Another October customer said Marc fetched an incompatible dishwasher part’s replacement and finished the job that day. In August, Steve was credited with a same-day oven fix. A Montclair customer that month described Marc replacing refrigerator parts, checking an additional garage fridge and following up over several days; a later visit addressed a dent in the newly delivered dishwasher. The recent complaints are specific. An October 2026 customer reported paying $247 for a refrigerator diagnostic visit and then receiving an additional $321 bill after a fan replacement, totaling $568. They felt the second invoice was unclear and the price too high. An August 2026 Bosch-dishwasher customer said they waited a month and a half for a part, with messages taking three to five days to answer, then hired another company that obtained the part and made the repair. In February 2026, a customer with recurring mudroom flooding said the visit produced a warranty discussion and advice to run another load, but no solution; they intended to switch services. Another February caller said repeated unanswered calls and an unreturned voicemail prevented them from arranging service. A June 2025 customer reported a missed visit: staff said the technician knocked and left, while the customer said they had been home and received no call. August 2025 and April 2023 oven customers each objected to a $100 diagnostic visit and a recommendation to replace an oven without repair. Other older customers describe substantial follow-through. In December 2023, a refrigerator customer said Mark returned three times, charged only for the first call and worked with Whirlpool engineers until Whirlpool agreed to replace the refrigerator at no cost. A December 2025 customer described Marc getting a Speed Queen washer operating again. Google shows 4.7 stars from 211 ratings; written accounts span 2021 through 2026.
We had ACE service our 2014 GE Refrigerator as it was having issues with food freezing. The tech came out and assessed the issue and advised we needed a replacement fan. He was great and informative and scheduling was fine. We paid him $247 for the service call. He then came back with the $25 part and was here for 5 minutes to replace the fan. I got an invoice for $321 which I assumed we already paid $247 of but not the case. When I called, they said I owed an additional $321 for a total cost of $568 to replace a fan with a total of onsite time of about 20 minutes. I tried to say I felt the 2nd invoice was the full amount, but the person on the phone was insistent that I pay that much more. Unfortunately, I wasn't home during the first visit to get a complete quote and I just felt their cost was too high.
I am beyond happy with Ace Appliance. I was a first-time caller to them this morning and they gave me a two-hour window for service today. It turns out they are an authorized dealer for the appliance that needed repair! Marc showed up on time and I especially appreciated the conversation we had about fixing vs replacing my dryer. It was thoughtful and without any pressure. I really wanted to keep the dryer so I approved the cost and Marc had the needed part on the truck. So the work was completed in one visit. This was a very positive experience!!
They go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy! I was replacing my dishwasher and the part I had for the old one wasn't compatible with the new one. Marc drove to get the part for me, returned, and finished the job that same day. I also find that they will move things around to make themselves available. I've only heard GREAT things about Ace Appliance, so it's no wonder all of the Facebook Groups recommend them. You won't regret it!
Great experience with Ace Appliance! My refrigerator was leaking, and they were able to come out promptly. I really appreciated not having to wait a week for service with a leaking fridge. Based on a previous experience with the same issue elsewhere, I was prepared for an expensive repair. Instead, the technician quickly diagnosed the source of the problem and found a reasonable solution that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. The entire experience was quick, easy, and fairly priced. I was truly impressed by how knowledgeable the owner was and appreciated the honest service. Would definitely use Ace Appliance again.
Marc @ Ace Appliance is by far one of the best people I've worked with since moving into my new home in Montclair, NJ. My wife and I recently moved here and bought a house that had an expensive kitchen job done - all Bosch appliances - 15 years ago. Shortly after moving in we noticed that the appliances were showing their age. The freezer door was misaligned and the ice machine was iced over and non-functional. The dishwasher seemed to be erroring and leaking... Marc came over quickly, was able to diagnose several specific problems (on old, high-end "custom" appliances no-less) and we discussed the plan of action. The dishwasher needed straight up replacing, the fridge needed several parts. Once the parts arrived Marc stayed over nearly the whole day meticulously ensuring the parts were installed correctly and that the fridge was working as expected. I'm a curious guy, and he was a pleasure to chat with and was happy to explain things as he fixed. Marc even checked out our garage fridge and steam-cleaned some ice buildup because he was already over, and continued to follow up with me over the next several days to make sure that everything was working. Funny enough, the new dishwasher was delivered with a dent, and Bosch contracted Marc to replace the part, so he was back several weeks later for that. Still an absolute pleasure to have in the house! Ultimately Marc was thoughtful, communicative, creative in his problem solving, and prolonged the life of our kitchen. 10/10 would recommend and continue to use Ace Appliance Repair.
