A 2025 customer said Chris came out to view their property, gave a quote they called fair, and had his crew begin mowing and trimming immediately. A 2024 customer recovering from shoulder surgery needed a 300-foot driveway plowed and salted, and said Chris came by the next morning. A 2022 customer who ordered 20 yards of mulch spread said they kept it off the flowers and hand-spread it underneath them and the shrubbery. A 2023 customer said the company took care of their condo complex, from lawn care to snow plowing. A 2025 customer wrote that the company started mowing beside their freshly coated truck without asking them to move it, and threw wet grass, dirt and rocks on its side. A 2025 reviewer wrote that, under a contract to clear a lot after snowfall, a tenant was told Chris would be back at 1pm, he never showed, and an employee was sent at 6pm only to shovel. That 2025 reviewer said tenants fell on the ice. On Google the company holds 4.3 stars from 29 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0625226, held by Ahlgren Landscaping LLC, as inactive due to non-renewal of the credential.

“Christopher Ahlgren, owner of Ahlgren Landscaping in Hartford, Conn., learned a new communication and weekly check-in strategy that ensured his snow team would be available and ready before a snow event happens.”
Ahlgren’s is extremely reliable. Staff is so nice! Prices are very reasonable. We’ve been loyal customers for many years. We use them for lawn care and snow removal. Highly recommend.
We have had Ahlgren Landscaping mowing and trimming our difficult property for two years. When we decided it was time to hire out this work, Chris came and viewed our property and gave us a very fair quote, and had his crew begin immediately. The crew assigned to us are professional and detail oriented, and also really nice too.
Brand new truck just cleaned and ceramic coated parked on the curb. Didn’t even ask me and started mowing and threw wet grass, dirt, and rocks all over the side of my truck. More than enough opportunity to ask for it to be moved and instead just started mowing. Lack of attention to detail and customer service is reflected by this alone.
Chris and his guys are the best helped me out sucking a few piles while my box was off
Ahlgren Landscaping has a contract with ×××× Street, a contract that not only did they not fulfill during our most recent snowstorm, but you also lied twice. Per contract, following the snowfall, Ahlgren will come back next day by 10am to clear the lot. On the morning of Sunday, February 16th, assumingly Chris Ahlgren verbally informed a tenant that he would be back that day at 1pm as he wanted the freezing rain to stop. When I was provided with that information, I was able to have every car removed from this lot by 1pm. As 1pm passed, so did 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and so on. He never showed. He then sent an employee to clean our sidewalks and steps at 6pm the same day. I happened to be running an errand when he showed up and I spoke with him. According to him, Chris is the only one who plows, and he didn't know when or if he would come back. He was sent to only shovel. If what he said is true, that Chris is the only one who plows, then my next statement is, it doesn't appear that Chris has the means to fulfill his contracts at such was evident of most recent storm. I told him that he didn't have to shovel, because the city already did the front sidewalk, tenants did the back steps, and my husband did the front ones. Additionally, the yellow salt bucket lids are not accessible to those who have arthritis or joint issues. The second lie was when I was informed Chris did come back, two days later, however, he couldn't plow because vehicles were in the lot. While that might be plausible to some, it wasn't to me. Why? Well cameras don't lie. Due to Ahlgren's gross negligence, tenants have fallen on the ice because they failed to fulfill a contract that resulted in the creation of unreasonable risk of harm to another person. Had they fulfilled the contract, had they returned to the lot at 1pm the snow and ice that they fell on would have not been present. Had they acted with slight care or diligence, these tenants would have not fallen.
