All My Sons Moving & Storage's Medford office carries a 4.6-star Google average from 178 ratings and an A+, accredited file with the Better Business Bureau going back to 2013 — but the last few months tell a rougher story than either number suggests. This is the Boston-area branch of a national moving chain, handling local and long-distance household and apartment moves out of Medford, MA. Recent reviews split into two clear camps. On one side, a two-bedroom third-floor apartment got fully packed, moved, and set up by 5pm the same day, and a four-bedroom home was packed in six hours flat, everything wrapped and handled without incident. On the other, this July alone brought a review describing missing property and an unreimbursed claim after repeated follow-up calls, and a separate move where the crew never showed on the scheduled day and gave conflicting explanations about the arrival window. Other recent complaints get specific rather than vague: wood furniture loaded onto the truck unwrapped and left scraped and chipped, roughly 6,000 of 15,000 pounds left behind unpacked on one job, a bill based on a larger home than what was actually being moved, downtime with one mover unaccounted for nearly an hour, and a deposit that reportedly never got refunded after a cancellation despite repeated calls. Worth confirming before booking: get the crew size, the home-size estimate behind the quote, and the deposit and cancellation terms in writing, and ask directly how a damage or missing-item claim gets handled if one comes up — that's the exact gap several recent reviewers describe hitting. For a straightforward apartment or home move, plenty of recent customers got exactly what they paid for, and several named specific crews for praise. But this isn't a branch to book on the strength of its BBB seal alone — the last six months show real, detailed complaints running alongside the praise, so a written estimate and a clear damage policy are worth locking down before moving day.

THEFT! DAMAGE! OVER CHARGES! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. 🙌UPDATE:
Following my original review, the company posted a public response. However, it did not address the actual issues.

I have contacted All My Sons Moving & Storage multiple times and was told this matter would be handled. It has not been. I still have missing personal property, was forced to hire another company at my own expense to access and reorganize my storage unit, and I have not been reimbursed.

A general apology is not a resolution. There has been no direct follow-up, no accountability, and no attempt to correct what happened.

At this point, despite repeated outreach, the situation remains unresolved. I am still not fully relocated as a result of how this move was handled.

Consumers should be aware that when issues are raised, a public apology does not necessarily mean action is taken behind the scenes. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend documenting everything and understanding your rights if something goes wrong.

🙏 PLEASE DON’T USE THIS COMPANY THEFT DAMAGE OVER CHARGES THIS COMPANY IS LISTED NEGATIVELY EVERYWHERE FROM REDDIT TO YOUTUBE
Buyer Beware – Disorganized, Costly, and Unacceptable Handling of My Move

I would strongly caution anyone considering All My Sons Moving & Storage

My move on February 18 was handled in a way that created disruption, financial loss, and ongoing stress. Despite walking the crew through exactly what was to go to my apartment, what was to go into storage, and what was to be discarded, none of those instructions were followed.

Items that were clearly separated and labeled were indiscriminately packed and thrown into a 10x20 storage unit, floor to ceiling, with no organization. Things meant for my apartment ended up buried in storage. Trash—including actual trash cans—were packed and stored. Items that should never have left the property were taken. At the same time, items that were supposed to come with me were mistakenly given away.

The result? I spent months going through every single box, at my own expense and time, trying to undo the damage. I had to hire additional movers just to make the unit accessible and reorganize what should have been handled correctly the first time.

Most concerning, valuable and deeply sentimental items—my father’s vintage clocks—are missing. I have gone through every box. They are not there.

The billing process only added to the pressure. Payment was demanded before unloading, leaving me with no real ability to dispute what was happening in real time. Costs escalated dramatically, and I later received additional charges that did not reflect the actual scope or condition of the move.

What should have been a straightforward relocation turned into a prolonged, expensive, and emotionally exhausting situation. I also lost work time due to the disorganization and the need to fix what was done.

This experience raises serious concerns about:
• Lack of adherence to clear customer instructions
• Mishandling and loss of personal property
• Disorganized and negligent packing practices
• Questionable billing and pressure tactics
• Failure to provide any meaningful resolution afterward

I am still not fully and properly relocated as a result of how this move was handled.

Bottom line: This was not just inconvenient—it was costly, disruptive, and unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Failed to show up on the day of scheduled move. A horrible company with abhorrent service. The company confirmed a 1-3pm arrival for our scheduled move on July 15th. When we called at 3:45pm (after hearing nothing back from them), they said they were “finishing up“ another move in Medford. Two hours later (5:45pm), they called to tell us “likely could not make it today” (while our whole house was packed up), saying they were completing a different move in Tewksbury. When we told them we had a 1-3pm window, they untruthfully claimed the window had been 11am -5pm (which would have been impossible, as we had an 11 am appointment). When we asked for possible rescheduling, they refused any sort of discount or refund on the deposit, unless we fully cancelled the move. We would have payed full price for a delayed move which was highly inconvenient to us. We instead decided to cancel after Sean spoke rudely to both my mother and me on the phone. Thank goodness our lease was not expiring. We are highly disappointed with this company, and would not recommend it to anyone.

The guys were professional and courteous. They took great care of our things and still managed to work quickly. 10/10 would recommend.

All My Sons is the absolute best! I needed them to move a 2 br 1 ba apartment, from a 3rd floor, including balcony furniture, and set up beds and desks at the new location. I needed them to do everything, including packing, moving, and setting up new furniture, by 5pm - they did it way faster than I expected. They managed to pack my entire apartment in just 3 hours and moved everything in in a couple more hours. I was in my new apartment by 5 pm and I didn’t have to do anything. Really really awesome team, I’m using them for all my moves

(Update 25 June 26)
Objective facts confirmed by trucking company: The gentlemen packed and loaded 9k lbs. What they left in the house unpacked and unloaded was 6k lbs.

Was pleasantly surprised that very few things were broken. Was all our wood furniture (that was loaded unwrapped/uncovered onto the truck) seriously scraped/chipped? Yes. We had avoided any serious damage on our wooden furniture for the last 4 moves, but we finally paid for our good luck with poor packing and loading. But as far as broken things go, we only lost a few lamps (also loaded unwrapped). Were our kitchen boxes full of open food or liquids that spilled inside the boxes? Yes. Did they load my entire collection of books into 2 wardrobe boxes, seriously damaging dozens of books? Yes. But overall, most of our things made it.

Important: The 5 gentlemen actually packing and loading (half) our belongings did the best they could with the time and support they had. They were courteous and hard working. My main beef was with the company who did not send enough men, enough supplies, and did not schedule enough time (needed more than 1 day!) to finish the job.

It was the company who could not send another crew out to finish the job, despite knowing the state of our house when the day was done.

It was the company who incorrectly estimated (off by 5 thousand pounds), and incorrectly scheduled (our estimate was 11k pounds, and the guys couldn't even pack/load that much!) our pack and load, and it is them who should bear the brunt of this review.

-------------------------Original Review-------------------------
We were so excited to hire All My Sons because of the great reviews, but our move yesterday has been a nightmare.

We did a virtual estimate, and pushed back when they said our estimate was 11k pounds, and asked them to estimate more. They quoted us for 5 men to pack and load the truck in one day, and we asked if they could plan for two. They told us their staff was “efficient” and only needed one day.

They showed up with an entire trailer but very little packing material, even though the lady that quoted us told us they’d send more than enough for the whole house. They showed up at 10:20 and estimated 8 hours. About an hour in the driver left for more packing materials, and didn’t return for 2 hours (the warehouse is 40 mins away, so this made sense, but we paid hourly so it felt like a cash grab). At 6 pm they clearly wouldn’t finish. The truck was getting full, so we asked them to prioritize packing so that we could just load the new truck when it arrived. They started throwing things onto the truck completely unwrapped, the washer and drier loaded with no cushioning on the front windows. Our kids’ beloved toys unwrapped and fit into cracks. The last 8 ft of the truck isn’t even stacked, they just put things ground level and threw so light stuff on top.

They left at 9pm, and the dispatcher said they had no crews to send today or tomorrow.

$6k for the work, and a full quarter or fifth of the house was left in disarray, unpacked and not ready. I attached a photo of our living room as they left it, but the basement, office, and our kids room looks the same.

So my family is out today packing, and loading a trailer without any regret or recompense from the company. We are trying to finish before our kids get out of school, because we don’t want them to see the stress or the heartbreak we’re feeling.

No boxes are labeled. I someone tossing a half used bottle of siracha, unwrapped, into a box full of unwrapped kitchen things. They aren’t supposed to pack any liquids or open foods. The lead packer said “with these freight moves stuff always breaks” like he’s preparing us to open the truck when we arrive. I don’t know how much of our things will be broken when we arrive but I will update this post.

We thought it would be better to hire these guys, and it was the worst move we’ve had in our 11 years of military service.
