All Trades Handyman is a one-man operation out of Harwich that Cape homeowners call for the job that doesn't fit anywhere else — a rotted deck board, a bat house up a tree, a custom cedar EV charging station built from scratch. Jon Watson runs it himself, and his name is on nearly every one of the 52 reviews behind the business's 5.0-star Google rating. The reviews read less like customer feedback and more like a running list of the same jobs repeated across years: rebuilt back steps, replaced rotted deck trim, replicated stair-railing moldings, enlarged a closet to fit a bi-fold door, mounted heavy mirrors, hung kitchen cabinets, installed grab bars and a stair railing the same week they were needed. Several homeowners mention using him three or more times over the years — one has him on ongoing call at a pottery studio for everything from vanity installs to relighting the space. The pattern isn't any single trade; it's that Jon shows up, quotes a fair price, and charges the number he quoted. Deck, step and railing work comes up more than anything else — rebuilt steps, new railings, deck flooring, rotted trim replaced "like new" — enough that it reads as his real specialty inside the handyman label, alongside furniture assembly, cabinet installs and small carpentry fixes. In one 2024 review, a customer was told in advance that Jon might be busy and slow to start; she still waited and heard back from him quickly once she reached out, so it's worth asking about his current schedule up front if the job isn't urgent. One thing worth checking before booking: the state's contractor licensing registry shows an expired home improvement contractor registration (#139530) listed under the name "JACK OF ALL TRADES" — close enough to raise the question but not an exact match to All Trades Handyman or to Jon Watson, so it's worth asking him directly which license, if any, currently covers his work. For the small, oddball jobs around a Cape house — carpentry repairs, deck fixes, the stuff too big for a weekend project and too small for a full contractor — Jon Watson's name keeps coming back across three years of reviews with no negative pattern on file. Confirm his current availability and licensing status directly, then expect the same responsiveness and tidy cleanup his customers describe.
Highly, highly recommend John! He was responsive, friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. He repaired our deck expertly. Will absolutely continue to work with him in the future.
I highly recommend Jon Watson, the owner of All Trades Handyman. I needed some help sprucing up my outdoor shower and the area surrounding it. Jon came by and had some great ideas that helped me stay within my budget and achieve the look I was hoping for. Jon was easy to communicate with throughout the process. He was very clear with pricing and costs. Jon was professional, timely and cleaned up when he left, only leaving the beautiful job he completed behind. I will definitely have Jon return in the Fall for future projects/repairs!
Jon has done quite a bunch for my family. He shows up when he says he will, he’s priced very reasonably and he does excellent work. He’s my go to handyman - he should be your’s too!!!
Jon is great, he has done several jobs for me, the latest being an outdoor shower enclosure, which is beautiful. He is prompt, communication is excellent and he provides good value for his work.
I had an excellent experience working with Jon. He is thoughtful, talented, efficient, and incredibly solution-oriented. From the start, he came fully prepared with every tool needed and never cut corners, even on challenging projects. He hung an extremely heavy mirror securely and professionally, took the initiative to go to the hardware store for the correct parts when I wasn’t sure what was needed, and handled everything seamlessly. He also built a bed and an outdoor shower, and the quality of the work was outstanding. What really stood out was his reliability and professionalism — always on time, friendly, communicative, and clearly takes pride in doing things the right way. It’s rare to find someone this skilled, dependable, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!
