We choose contractors by referral and reputation. Austin and Sons were chosen to replace our original 35 year old asphalt roofing with a combination of asphalt shingles, metal valleys and metal eve aprons. Multiple valleys, peaks, skylights and vents with curated gardens and decks below compounded the project. The project was completed from beginning to end with a high degree of conscientiousness toward quality and care for the overall property. The crew arrived early, worked in a highly productive manner throughout the day, finished each day leaving roof in a no risk protected condition from potential rain or wind and did not leave until all personnel participated in a thorough clean up of debris, including magnetic screening of lawn, gardens and driveways for nails. I have done construction projects in the past, know building codes and felt the crew met/exceeded my expectations. The quote was detailed and the work was completed to high quality standards on budget and on schedule - we got a an excellent value for our expenditure. If you have read this far, and are considering Austin and Sons for your roofing work - you have found your contractor.

Austin and Sons has been great to work with over the years. A couple of months ago I called to ask them to check out a leak in my roof. Matt showed up within an hour. After checking the damaged area from both the roof and the attic he gave me his best guess on what was causing the leak and outlined a couple of options for repair, which they were able to schedule within a few short weeks. If ever I need roof work again, I will definitely call Austin and Sons.

I cannot say enough great things about Austin & Sons! They have now completed two major roofing projects for me, and both experiences were outstanding. Last year, they installed architectural shingles on my 100‑year‑old carriage house, and this year they put a standing seam metal roof on the main house. The results are exceptional. From the very beginning, Austin & Sons stood out from every other contractor I interviewed. Their professionalism, patience, and willingness to explain every detail made the decision easy. They never rushed me, and they clearly take pride in doing things the right way. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. The crew cleaned up thoroughly every single day — not one nail, screw, or piece of debris was left behind after either project. That level of care is rare, and it shows how seriously they take their work. I also asked them to add a gutter system to the carriage house, and they exceeded expectations. They custom‑formed the gutter so discreetly that it blends perfectly with the building’s architecture. Both structures are over a century old, and Austin & Sons managed to preserve their historic character while providing durable, modern protection. While they may not be the lowest‑cost option, the quality of their workmanship, their professionalism, and their respect for historic properties make them an exceptional value. I would confidently hire them again.
