Barnes Moving & Storage is a Mystic moving company, and a recent Google customer's job shows the range: a pick-up two hours away in Massachusetts, a stop in Mystic, and a final delivery in Rhode Island over two days. That customer says the movers finished each phase as scheduled, took care protecting the items as well as the walls and floors, and charged a reasonable price. In a 2025 review, a first-time customer said the office gave a flat rate estimate for a one-bedroom apartment move, and that Matt, David and Isaiah showed up on time and put everything where it was wanted. A 2025 reviewer said that when David, Isaiah and Coleman noticed a small damaged area on the customer's son's bed during a two-day move, they pointed it out right away. A 2025 customer said the owner, Dean DePietro, was accommodating to meet their needs. A 2024 customer said a three-day move from Groton, CT to Warwick, RI arrived in perfect condition, including mirrors and framed pictures, and that the initial estimate was honored. In a 2024 review, a customer closing on two houses the same day said the company stored their items an extra day. A 2025 Reddit commenter said they used Barnes out of Mystic a couple years ago and were very satisfied with the job. The company's website lists service areas from Windham and Middletown in Connecticut to Providence, Newport and Westerly in Rhode Island, and says it has been in business 99 years.

There are so many things to love about these guys. Our move involved a pick-up two hours away in Massachusetts, a stop in Mystic to pick up some more things at our condo and at their facility, drop off some, and rearrange others, and a final delivery in Rhode Island - all over the course of two days. The timing had to be precise. We lined them up a few months in advance and they never deviated from the agreed upon dates and times. They showed up and they finished each phase precisely as scheduled. Not only did they execute the move(s) exactly as planned, they did so with an extraordinary care both in packing and protecting the items as well as for the walls and floors, efficiency in staging what had to be done in what order in each location, and a wonderful attitude. These guys are just nice to be around, and Dean and the rest of the team were always pleasant and helpful. Communication was clear and timely through the process. The price was reasonable, and we could not be more pleased.
Pat + Matt were awesome!!! They were so fun, friendly, professional throughout our move. They really made the whole process easy and not stressful. Would highly recommend and use them again!!
We had a wonderful moving experience thanks to the “A” team from Barnes moving and storage, Mystic. It was nice to have the owner Dean to make the initial assessment of what we would be moving and the process. All of the gentlemen that provided the actual moving services were excellent, Nick, Matt, Emil and I’m sorry for not recalling 4th name. From their positive attitude about what they were facing to their professional, friendly manner. We have had several moves and Barnes is by far the best. Thank you
Isaiah, Nick, and Steve were great! Without their help there was no way I could have moved into my new place. They moved everything with precision and care and placed everything right where I wanted it. This is my second time using Barnes Moving I would recommend them to anyone who is moving
We have used Barnes for several moves over the years and have always been more than satisfied. Our most recent move was in April of this year. Matt, Isaiah, and Nick handled the move; they were professional, careful, and personable. We could not have been more pleased and would recommend you request these three if you have a move coming up!
